Welcome, Developers! 👋 There's user prompts that we all use but they don't apply before the model's own system prompts take place. Today, we feature the system prompts of Claude 4 to help you make the best out of it. We also feature a fun opinionated piece around AI's role in coding, MCP's uptrend, and some cool HTML5 elements you may have missed. |

Think Your Site Is Safe? Think Again. Over 300,000 sites were hit by new client-side attacks in Q1. The cause? Third-party scripts you don't control or can't even see. If one turns malicious, you won't know. You’ll be non-compliant, and your users are impacted. That’s where c/side comes in. It sits between your users and every script loaded in their browser. One line of JavaScript gives you full visibility and control. You can monitor, detect, and block client-side threats in real time. PCI DSS has mandated client-side script monitoring since this year. We can help. |

🔌 MCP is the coming of Web 2.0 Model Context Protocol (MCP) has rapidly evolved from Anthropic's internal spec to a widely adopted standard, now supported by OpenAI's ChatGPT and even Microsoft Windows. Despite being somewhat under-specified compared to traditional protocols, MCP's open nature and quick adoption across platforms demonstrates how slightly loose but practical specifications often win in the real world. |

🛞 Why "Don't Reinvent the Wheel" Is Bad Advice Matthias argues that reinventing existing solutions is crucial for learning, understanding fundamentals, and advancing the field. While reusing existing work accelerates impact, reinventing teaches you the underlying principles and exposes design tradeoffs. Sometimes your "inferior" wheel turns out to be perfect for skateboards instead of cars. On a similar note, Remix, a known react-based framework is looking to ditch it in favor of a Preact fork and look what's further possible for a web framework. Their reasoning being that they made React Router v7 too good that Remix became unnecessary at that point. As a reminder, Remix / React Router is used by Shopify, X.com, GitHub etc. |

⚠️ The Copilot Delusion Albeit an opinionated piece against AI use in coding, this is a fun read that ironically feels like it was AI-generated at times but wasn't. In essence, the writer argues that GitHub Copilot and similar tools are turning developers into code supervisors but also points out scenerios where it's admitedly useful even as a critic. |
